Phishing Scam

Incidents of fraudulent telephone phishing are widespread. Cardholders may receive what appears to be automated phone calls or texts telling them their ATM/Debit cards are locked. The automated message requests recipients to enter their 16 digit card number. Once entered the scammers are then requesting the card PIN number. The scam artists are attempting to obtain access to customer accounts by ATM and Point Of Sale purchases.

Always remember – if Kilowatt’s card processor contacts you regarding a possible fraudulent transaction or questioning a purchase; the card processor already has your card information and would never ask you to enter your entire 16 digit card number or secure PIN.

DO NOT give out card numbers, account numbers, social security numbers or other sensitive information to an unsolicited email, link, text or phone call.
